ALESSANDRA MARCHI

Alessandra Marchi

More in tune with the vanguards of international fashion than with the traditions of the domestic market, Alessandra Marchi, a young Tuscan designer, succeeds in defining her own original path within the broad trend that embraces asymmetrical form as a creative axiom. Intended as a violation of regularity rather than a synonym for imperfection, asymmetry today proves to be a magma that generates fertile and innovative creative processes, capable of opposing the rampant atrophy of thought and imagination. Freeing oneself from the reassuring constraints of tradition does not mean plunging into a dark and unpleasant world; on the contrary, it is the beginning of an authentic and compelling experience of continuous discoveries and unexpected revelations.

The Alessandra Marchi collection falls within this successful trajectory with a personal stylistic strategy, based on the combination of artisanal and eco-friendly yarn techniques and treatments with treated, worn, and aged leathers.

In addition to the elaboration of fabrics and the interruptions in the rhythm of the knit stitch, the research into shapes is sophisticated: coats that are generous in volume but contained in length; vest-dresses and sweater-dresses featuring abundant panels to be layered or draped over absolutely essential bases. Despite the dark hues provided by the bleaching of the fabrics, what prevails is the freshness of a touch that indulges the feminine silhouette while, at the same time, equipping it with a solid and gritty personality.
