This young designer from Tuscany is more tuned in with the avant-garde of international fashion, rather than with the traditional Italian market, and defines her own personal way within the vast trend that assumes the asymmetrical shape as its creative reference point. Asymmetry is today seen as a violation of regularity, rather than a synonym for imperfection, a generator of innovative and productive creative process that is able to contrast the increasing atrophy of thought and imagination. Setting free from the reassuring traditional limits of harmony does not mean falling down into an obscure, unpleasant world; on the contrary, it is the start of a real and fascinating experience of constant discoveries and unexpected revelations. Alessandra Marchi’s collection is included in this line, with a personal style and strategy, basing on the association of handmade and ecological knitting techniques with hides that are treated, worn out and made older. Together with the treatment of fabrics and the interruptions in the pattern of the knit, there is a refined research of shapes: large coats with contained lengths, waistcoat and pullover dresses with large panels to be juxtaposed and draped on extremely simple shapes. Despite the dark shades obtained by the bleaching of the fabrics, the freshness of the female silhouette prevails, providing it with a strong and spirited personality.
